Work is underway on the structure of the redevelopment project of Mill Run in Bristol.
This structure will have 64 beds for assisted living, with a proposal for other medical services. The attorney for the developer of the project, Michael Hollister, said that the kitchen and cafeteria still need to be completed. He added that the website should be going live soon and will be accepting applications for employment and residency. Printing services of many kinds can be used to provide more details about the project and employment opportunities.
The facility is at 1201 Wilson and is connected to Healthcare Stat Homecare. Work started on the building of the space since 2016. Since then, new windows have been installed, improvements have been made to the steel structure, and asbestos has been removed. Most of the building, spanning 77,000 square feet, has been gutted.
It was once the home of Harriman Hospital in the early 20th century. Harriman Hospital was renamed Bristol General Hospital in the early 50s, and changed its name again to Delaware Valley Hospital. An addition of five stories was completed in the late 60s. Once the new living facility is fully completed and ready to house its own residents, it will continue its longstanding history as a location for caregiving as an assisted living facility, although it has been proposed for other medical services as well.
