Upright Brewing, known for its subterranean location, has announced its plans for two expansion ventures and a move from focusing on farmhouse ales to Old World style beers.
Banner printing services provide one of the most effective methods of announcing the opening of a new establishment, or the relocation of one.
One of its new locations will take the place of its present brewery close to Portland’s Rose Quarter. Though admired by many for its cozy and intimate atmosphere, its longtime basement home is cramped and can be difficult for patrons to find.
The present taproom, as well as a café, will be replaced by one on its current Leftbank Building’s first floor where the Sting Ray Café used to be before giving up its lease. Upright will be partnering with The Portland Bottle Shop, which still handle food and coffee services.
A second taproom is planned for a vacant gas station, the former Northeast Portland station.
Owner and founder Alex Ganum explained that Upright would continue to expand its offerings and fast-track its move toward traditional Old World, styles although farmhouse ales will be available at both locations. He added that new locations would enable the business to maintain focus on low-volume brewing with bottle and tap sales inhouse
No date has been set for the opening of the new upstairs space. The second location is waiting on permits.
