Portland readers and authors gather for a week of literary events

This November, Portland will dedicate a whole week to storytelling, Books and writers.

Run by the nonprofit Literary Arts, Portland Book Festival will take over downtown from November 2 to 8. It has grown from a weekend-only event into a week-long festival that includes food, visual art and music. Local cultural partners include the Oregon Symphony, Mississippi Studios, Food Forward and Feast Portland. Organizers describe it as the largest book festival in the Pacific Northwest.

More than 100 authors will be featured in conversations, panels and readings on Saturday, November 7. Publishers and booksellers will sell their work from booths at the exhibitor fair. Pop-up readings and writing workshops will fill the day, and children and teens will have dedicated programming. A Friday night book market opens on November 6, along with community-hosted meetups around the metro area.

Visitors age 17 and under get in free, while other attendees need a festival pass. A complimentary $5 voucher for the exhibitor fair and entry to the main venue's exhibits come with general admission tickets.

To help vendors promote themselves, flyer printing can be a practical method for exhibitors at book fairs in Portland.

Portland Book Festival runs Monday, November 2, through Sunday, November 8, 2026. The main festival day is Saturday, November 7, at the Portland Art Museum, 1219 Southwest Park Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97205.
