Portland’s twice-per-year art and craft fair will return for its spring market with more than 225 local vendors on hand with unique handmade goods.
Started in 2006 by Cathy Zwicker and Torie Nguyen, who were frustrated with entering holiday markets and craft fairs only to have them rained out, the duo decided to create an indoor marketplace and named it Crafty Wonderland. Held at the Oregon Convention Center the event has grown to be the largest arts and crafts market in the city. Tens of thousands of people descend on the Convention Center for the biannual art and craft fair, giving PDX makers and artists a way to sell their wares as well as gain publicity and name recognition.
Business Cards provide companies with a means of spreading the word about their enterprise to not only their customers but also potential ones as well.
To keep the shopping experience at their Crafty Wonderland events fresh, at each market Zwicker and Nguyen rotate artists, so attendees can be assured they will always find something new.
Crafty Wonderland Holiday Art + Craft Market takes place on May 1 and 2. Tickets cost $4 and need to be purchased in advance. To prevent overcrowding, entries are timed. A limited number of Friday night preview tickets are available for $25, which includes one free drink.
