Portland is no stranger to classical music, and jazz quartet will soon be debuting at a local theater. This event has been organized to showcase the works of a talented musician who has been producing music for well over three decades.
The Julian Lage Quartet is being presented by PDX Jazz. It will feature numerous well-known jazz compositions alongside original songs written by Lage. Many of these are associated with his previous albums including Scenes from Above, Something More, and Speak to Me. Lage does not choose to classify himself as a band leader, but rather as a collaborator. This perspective has provided his music with a decidedly egalitarian edge.
John Medeski, Jorge Roeder, and Kenny Wollesen will be joining Julian Lage on stage for this event. Critics have described this quartet as sad, sweet, and often representing what they term a four-part prayer.
Organizers of live performances always intend to resonate with the desired audience, and flyer printing is one method frequently employed. Other well-known approaches include placing playbills in nearby music venues, asking volunteers to hand out Brochures, and playing relevant songs on local radio stations.
The Julian Lage Quartet will be taking to the Portland stage on Friday, October 16th, and the concert is scheduled to begin at 8 PM. This event is being hosted by the Newmark Theatre located at 1111 SW Broadway. Ticket prices start at $44.75 per guest.
