Top Chef finalist opens eatery highlighting fried chicken

‘Top Chef’ finalist Doug Adams and his partner Jen Quist are opening a new restaurant in Sellwood designed to be a neighborhood haunt, with Adams’ fried chicken as the centerpiece.

The hospitality group Holler, which introduced downtown Portland’s restaurant, Bullard, will be lending its name to Quist and Adams’ venture. This will be the partners’ second project.

Holler’s location will be on the ground floor of a 240-unit apartment building under construction called Meeting House. The new eatery’s kitchen is designed for speed and volume. Adams has revealed that Holler will be using the same fryers employed by the Popeye’s franchise, but asserts that his chicken will take things to another level.

The new establishment will be family-friendly with an arcade containing several classic games such as Skee Ball and Pop-A-Shot. Private dining rooms will be available for kids’ parties and several screens will be scattered about the restaurant showing major sporting events. New establishments like this look for a logo design that will work equally well on letterheads, menus, and signs.

In addition to fried chicken and wings, Holler’s will feature a dinner plate special, a signature burger, and a few healthy choices. At the bar, 16 beers will be on tap, as will a variety of cocktails.

Seating for about 90 diners is available inside, as well as sidewalk tables for use in good weather. A dedicated entrance and pickup window will be used by delivery services and for takeout orders.
