Portlands foremost outdoor art festival nearly here

Labor Day weekend is almost here and for Portland art enthusiasts that can only mean one thing, the return of the city’s annual Art in the Pearl.

Held in the centermost part of the Pearl District at the North Park Blocks, Art in the Pearl is in its 29th year and is the city’s largest outdoor art fair. Each year the event attracts thousands of visitors and this year attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the work of more than 130 juried artists dealing in wide array of mediums including clay, glass, jewelry, metal, painting photography, textiles, and wood.

Successful artisans as well as some vendors that participate in festivals ensure they have plenty of Business Cards on hand to hand out to customers as well as those who are simply browsing.

The festival not only allows art lovers to view and purchase original artworks, but to also meet and talk to the artists and learn about the process they go through to create their art. In addition to the art, the festival offers live music, art demonstrations, and dance performances. Also on hand will be a variety of food vendors.

No tickets are required for this free event which takes place August 30 and 31, 10 am to 5 pm and September 1, 10 am to 4 pm.
