Portland to host 2024 CiderCon

CiderCon is the world’s largest cider conference. It is expected to attract over 1000 people to participate in tastings, tours and educational workshops as well as provide networking opportunities.

According to Michelle McGrath ACA CEO:

“Portlanders drink more cider per capita than any other city, so visiting attendees will feel right at home. This year, visiting attendees include Swedish and Norwegian cidermakers who are at the forefront of their own cider renaissance.”

An ample supply of business cards is a necessity at trade shows.

This year’s conference coincides with Oregon’s statewide cider celebration. CiderCon takes place January 16-19, 2024, while Oregon Cider Week starts January 13 and runs through January 21. Oregon Cider Week features a variety of events and is held and managed by the Northwest Cider Association (NWCA).

Oregon and Washington together produce approximately 70 percent of the nation’s apples and have between them 165 cideries.

CiderCon will take place at the Oregon Convention Center and feature over 100 vendors. Workshops ranging from cider production, marketing, branding and sales will be offered along with others covering business strategy, sensory evaluation, orcharding and compliance.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is located next door to the convention center will offer accommodations and off-site activities associated with the event.

More information is available concerning the events, available educational sessions and registration.
