Portland next in sight for car-sharing expansion
Free2Move’s plans to expand its car-sharing services to the greater Portland area were recently announced.
The announcement marks the first growth for Free2Move since its acquired Stellantis as its new parent company. This can be attributed to the increase of 40% in overall car sharing activities during the last two quarters of 2020.
The company believes Portland’s consistent commitment to seeking alternative transportation solutions makes it an ideal location for the company’s newest market. Free2Move will expand the personal transportation options available to the city’s residents, who already have access to scooters and bikes.
Free2Move customers can utilize a user-friendly app to locate a car close-by and reserve it for as small an increment of time as a few minutes, a day, or any amount of time in-between.
New options in a growing market are often promoted with the help of a poster printing service prior to their launch.
Since 2016, Free2Move has accumulated 1.2 million active clients and can be found in 170 countries. The company’s move to the West Coast follows its 2018 successful North American launch in Washington DC. Free2Move’s services can be accessed in other national capital, including Madrid, Lisbon and Paris.
Portland residents can begin enjoying this service, which will start with a fleet of 200 Jeep Renegades spread throughout the city, in late spring or perhaps early summer.
