Portland conference invites delegates to Pull Together
Invasive plant species can be problematic for many reasons – they crowd out native species, may not be a suitable food source for local wildlife and grow where they are not wanted. The issues that surround these plants will be the topic of conversation during a conference that will be held this January in Portland.
McMenamins Kennedy School will be the location for this year’s 4 County Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA) conference, which has been dubbed ‘2019 Pull Together’. It will explore the past, present and future of invasive species management, all from a conservationist and land management perspective.
Delegates for the symposium are welcome to arrive starting at 8:00 am, as the morning will open with coffee and networking. After this, there will be an introduction of the guest speakers, and a review of the organization's efforts of the past 10 years.
Lunch is included in the registration price, and after the meal, there will be further programming and presentations throughout the afternoon. The occasion will wrap up with a happy hour and further opportunities to network. Reusable cloth tote bags, water bottles and other earth friendly promotional products can be prepared for this sort of function by a print company in the local area.
This year’s conference will be welcoming delegates on January 16. Anyone who is interested can register through the event’s internet listing.
