What's Happening in Portland, OR…

In-N-Out Burger to open Portland location

The California-based In-N-Out Burger company has recently filed an application to meet with Portland city officials to discuss putting one of their eateries on NE Holman Street.

The chain has for years hinted at bringing its concept to possible locations in Portland, but this is the first concrete move it has made in that direction. According to the application, the company is looking at installing a 31-car drive-thru with a parking lot that will hold up to 61 vehicles.

New eateries bring additional business to a variety of companies including printing services, which may be called upon to provide signage, banners and promotional attire.

Portland Permitting & Development spokesperson Ken Ray commented on the scheduled January 30 meeting in an interview reported by the Oregonian saying:

“It’s not a building permit or a commitment to build a particular development. It provides the applicant a sense of, ‘What are all the requirements I’m going to need to give the city.’”

The owner of the Holman Street location being considered is PDX Real Estate LLC. The real estate director of its parent company, Mike Moonan confirmed that the lot was for sale and that it had been actively negotiating with a buyer but declined to name that buyer.

The very popular burger chain first entered the Oregon market in 2015 in Medford with locations in Grants Pass and Keizer following.
