The Vancouver Popeye’s franchisee who is responsible for opening the city’s new fried chicken restaurant is the CEO of Ambrosia QSR, Luke Pisors. The project at 1525 S.S. Grand Avenue has been in the works since 2023. Pisors said:
“We’re under construction, and hoping to be open for business in mid-summer. It will have a drive-thru very similar in layout to the Burger King formerly on the site.”
The site, which has been vacant for years, has been an unsightly space practically across from the Multnomah County’s offices.
Banner printing services frequently are used to announce a new business even before it is opened.
The new Grant Avenue Popeyes was originally supposed to open last year and a sign at the top of a pole stating “Coming Soon” has been teasing the public since 2023. The reason for the long delay is something that Pisors has chosen not to address; however, one possible factor in the delay could be the fire damage the site experienced in 2020.
Popeyes will not be a totally new experience for the city; the Portland area is already home to over a dozen of the fried chicken franchises already, including two due north on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard of where the new location will be.
