Once again in 2024, the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus will hold a ball and host a parade here in Portland in honor of Mardi Gras.
The parade is a family-friendly event, and everyone is invited to dress up and join the “second line” dancing in the street. Some lucky participants will receive the Krewe’s signature mini umbrellas that are handed out by parade members.
The parade route is Mississippi Avenue beginning near Humboldt Street and continuing past Fremont to Cook Street. Many venues will be offering food and drink specials, with Mardi Gras night always being particularly lively following the parade.
Large celebrations offer businesses an opportunity to disperse Promotional Products to advertise themselves.
The Mardi Gras parade is a free event taking place on February 13, also known as Fat Tuesday, at 7pm, with the Kid’s Costume Pageant being held at Luke’s Frame Shop at 5:30pm.
The Saturday before Fat Tuesday, February 10, the Portland Mardi Gras Ball takes place at Wonder Ballroom at 7pm. The ball will consist of live New Orleans-style music, with three fully stocked bars and Cajun food available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged for attendees of the ball, which is only for those 21 and over. Tickets are priced at $30.
Made up of former residents of Louisiana and many others who appreciate the culture, food and music of that area, the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus was formed in 2010 to bring a Louisiana-style Mardi Gras celebration to the Portland area.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
