The Queen’s Cartoonists are coming to Corvallis this winter to perform at Oregon State University’s Performing Arts Center.
The musical troupe based in Queens, New York, takes a unique approach to performance by putting jazz music, classical music, and cartoons into a blender.
The six musicians perform live music in synch with cartoons projected on the stage. The cartoons span 100 years, ranging from Golden Age classics to modern animations.
The Queen’s Cartoonists also incorporate a number of other comedy elements into the show, including aspects of musical circus, improvised musings, and sharing anecdotes about the animations and musical works.
The troupe performs works from Jazz Age giants like John Kirby, Carl Stalling, and Raymond Scott, while also tackling tunes from household names in classical music, including Mozart, Strauss, and Rossini.
The Queen’s Cartoonists have performed in famous venues all over the world, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Blue Note Jazz Club, and even as the opening act for the New York Philharmonic. The musicians come from four different continents but now reside in the U.S.
Musical performances like these may choose to use flyer printing as a cost-effective form of promotion or brochure printing for audience programs.
The Queen’s Cartoonists are performing at the Oregon State University Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
