A comedian based in Nashville is coming to Oregon to break all the rules about Southern comedy.
Dusty Slay is originally from Alabama but now works out of Nashville, a background that most would assume makes him a sort of walking cliché of what a “Southern Comedian” is and says. However, Slay does not fit anyone’s preconceptions about regional humor. Instead, he uses wry self-awareness and a sharp-as-a-tack writing style to show audiences what it was like to grow up in a trailer park. Along the way, he also dismantles typical ideas about the South and finds the common threads that tie everyone together, no matter where they live.
His refreshing down-home type of humor has landed him on a variety of programs and platforms including Netflix, Jimmy Kimmel, CMT, and The Tonight Show. He is the co-host of the “Nateland” podcast, sharing the duties with another funnyman, comic Nate Bargatze, who hails from Tennessee.
Dusty Slay will be in Corvallis on March 5, for two shows at the Majestic Theatre. The shows are at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. His show is colorful, to say the least, and is limited to those 18 and over. Anyone under 18 will have to have a parent or guardian with them to gain admittance. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create programs for audiences, who often enjoy learning more about the performer they are seeing.
