Springfield water park announces summer running event

A water park in Springfield has announced an upcoming running event for local adults and children who want to challenge their physical abilities and endurance this summer.

The Splish-Splash 5K & 10K is coming up on the events calendar in Springfield, giving runners and other residents a fun way to stay active and push themselves this August. Interested individuals can choose between registering for the 5K, 10K, or 1-Mile run, with the courses using an out-and-back design.

The races will start at the Eagle City Soccer Complex, located next to the Splash Zone Aquatic Center. Part of the paved Simon Keaton Trail will also be used as part of the running course. All participants will get to join a party at the Splash Zone Aquatic Center after completing their running event. Organizers can generate large numbers of impressions with banner printing at running events like this, both as a memorable finish line and as ads around the host site.

The afterparty will provide refreshing beverages, food, snacks, upbeat music, and the chance to win prizes. All children 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult, and parents of participating children must register to enter the afterparty.

Runners will meet at 500 Eagle City Road in Springfield at 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 1st. Registration costs $20 for the 1-mile run, and $25 for the 5K and 10K runs online.
