Oktoberfest competition hosts regionals in Springfield

A traditional Oktoberfest competition is gearing up for a regional qualifier in Springfield, and area residents who want to strut their abilities are encouraged to sign up.

The Ohio U.S. Steinholding Championship Qualifier is a month away, providing area residents the chance to show off their strength and endurance. Participants will go head-to-head with some of the strongest festival athletes in all of Ohio. The event is being presented and sponsored by Mother Stewart’s Brewing, a local brewery.

The qualifiers from the regional competition will advance to the state championships, with one man and one woman advancing to the next round. The field is limited to the first 20 men and 20 women who enroll. The state finals will be held in Cincinnati on October 18th. Flyer printing can help organizers promote competitions and tournaments like this by placing the flyers around the town.

The top three finishers of the men’s and women’s brackets will receive prizes for their efforts. First place will receive $250, second place will receive $100, and third place will receive $50. All participants will keep their steins as commemorative gifts to remember their participation.

Mother Stewart’s Brewing in Springfield will host the steinholding competition on Friday, September 19th. Competitors must check in between 6:00 and 7:15 PM, with the competition starting at 7:30 PM. Online registration is now open.
