Exercise event promotes literacy in Springfield
Springfield residents seeking an opportunity to promote education and literacy will want to make a note in their diaries, as a fitness event raises money for a worthy cause.
The Un-Run for Literacy, organized by the Clark County Literacy Coalition, is inspiring Springfield residents to leave their couches and dust off their running shoes in support of books and literacy. The event will feature a half-mile walk with multiple refreshment stops to help participants combat the warm weather and humidity.
Interested parties can choose from several 15-minute waves for their walking experience, starting at a celebratory start line after checking in and receiving their bibs. Attendees will be treated to complimentary refreshments at each of the five stops along the route. Banner printing is a fantastic and memorable way to welcome participants to the finish line for such fundraising walks and runs, with ample space to display sponsor logos.
Finishers will receive medals and free beers upon crossing the course’s finish line. Twenty-five people will be allowed to participate in each wave, and the event will be sponsored by Sunflower Yoga, Grandpa Joe’s, Mother Stewart’s, and Briella’s Hot Dogs.
Registration will be held at the corner of Jefferson and South Center in Springfield on Friday, June 6th, starting at 3:45 PM. Interested parties can make their reservations online for $25 per person.
