In order to bring awareness to the group and its goals, and to increase membership, the Young Professionals of Parma is hosting a meeting soon. The organization is now two years old.
Rudy’s Strudel and Bakery will be providing paczkis (traditional Polish pastries) for the event, which attendees can enjoy while they learn more about the group and its activities. Young Professionals has a number of committees ongoing, and is looking for people to join them. They include Volunteering and Philanthropy, Political Advocacy and Community Development, Business Engagement, and Social and Events.
The Young Professionals group is focused on people from 20 to 40, but welcomes visitors of all ages who would like to attend the meeting. The group works with the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce to help young professional people in the local area, including Parma Heights, Seven Hills, and Parma itself. Despite its focus on local issues, people need not live in any of these communities to come to the meeting or join a committee.
The president, Jackie Baraona, said the group aims to be more than a social club, and hopes to win the status of a nonprofit.
The meeting is slated for 7:00 pm next Thursday, February 22, at the Parma Ridge Library.
Events like this can be more effective if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create an agenda to distribute to attendees.
