The symposium, being held in Parma November 5-6, will gather together professionals to go over evidence-based approaches to violence prevention, trauma response, and school crisis intervention. Held at 2111 Snow Road, which is the administration building for the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Parma, social workers, counselors, nurses, funeral directors, and marriage and family therapists can receive a maximum of 12 continuing education credits for attending.

Featured speakers at this year’s symposium will include Rise 4 Solutions President Jim Adams – a specialist in the prevention and recovery from traumatic events, including school shootings. Another featured speaker will be Dr. Jillian Peterson, The Violence Prevention Project Research Center executive director, who is also a forensic psychologist who researches mental health and violence prevention.
Cornerstone of Hope education director Julia Ellifritt commented on the speakers saying:

A nonprofit bereavement center, Cornerstone of Hope has since 2003 served over 65,000 individuals in Ohio communities. The organization provides support groups, counseling, and education to families and individuals experiencing grief.
