Walking for the dogs near Parma

A fundraising event is coming up near Parma to help an important local organization.

The Northeast Ohio SPCA is the organizer of the 17th Annual New Leash on Life Woof Walk, which directly benefits the shelter and the animals it houses. Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring co-workers, family members, friends—and dogs, of course—to walk in support of shelter animals.

The event, which is suitable for the entire family, consists of a three-mile walk, plus vendors, raffles with prizes, photographers, and a DJ providing the music. There will also be various contests in which the dogs can take part.

The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a no-kill shelter located in Parma. The facility opened in 2004, and since then, has found homes for more than 32,500 animals.

The fee to register for the event is $25 per person, and all the money raised goes directly to the shelter. In addition, everyone who participates in the walk will receive a Woof Walk t-shirt.

The Woof Walk is scheduled for June 5, from 8.00 am until 12.00 pm, at the Edgewater State Park in Cleveland, a short distance from Parma. The park, as the name implies, is on the shore of Lake Erie and features 9,000 feet of unbroken shoreline. Banner printing is useful in creating course markers for events such as this since they are sturdy and stand up to outdoor conditions.
