After years of renovations and improvements, Phase One of The Shoppes at Parma is almost finished.
Back in the 1950s, a new mall called Parmatown opened for business and became a shopping destination for people throughout the region. However, Parmatown lost its popularity and went into receivership in 2012, when it was bought by Phillips Edison & Company. Phillips Edison rechristened it The Shoppes at Parma
A new retailer or restaurant has opened at The Shoppes at Parma nearly every week for the past few months. In the last 18 months, many improvements have been made to the center, including upgrading the parking lots, landscaping and lighting, installing new Signs, renovating the façade, and creating ‘outlots’.
The center’s general manager, Michelle Devlin, said it was an exciting time for both the center and for Parma itself, since new merchants coming in and opening shops meant jobs, visitors, and more revenue.
She stressed that many new stores have opened that shoppers would want to visit, including Mission BBQ, Pizzafire, and Gordmans. When openings are done, Phase One of the center will be finished. Phase Two is slated to be completed by Summer 2017.
