Superstar singer plans concert near Parma

A Motown legend will be in the Parma area for a concert.

Gladys Knight has been entertaining audiences since the 1960s, earning the nickname “Empress of Soul.” As the leader of the group Gladys Knight & the Pips, she put hit after hit on the charts in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, hitting the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart twice; and making it onto the R&B charts with 11 singles and six albums, all at number one. She also has seven Grammy Awards to her credit, and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

She and the Pips were the first to record the classic song “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” She also recorded “License to Kill,” the theme song for the James Bond film of the same name, and was named one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone.

A concert review says:

“Gladys is a very humble, beautiful and gracious lady with lasting talent. She met all of my expectations and then some. . . . It brought me to a place that no other music can, and re-defines what a Legend really should be.”

Gladys Knight will appear at MGM Northfield Park, Center Stage, in Northfield, a short distance from North Olmsted, on May 21. Brochure printing can produce informative programs for events like this.
