Popular jam band coming to Parma area

A popular band that often plays locally is planning a concert in the Parma area later this year.

əkoostik hookah, who call Columbus their home base, got together in 1991. Although they have toured nationally many times, and appeared overseas in Jamaica and Amsterdam, they are more often found playing in the Columbus area. They frequently appear with other jam bands, and have shared the stage with stars like Bruce Hornsby and Arlo Guthrie.

The band blends many musical genres, including blues, bluegrass, psychedelic rock, and folk, into a sound that is uniquely their own. They have written more than 100 original songs, and also have a long setlist of cover songs. The group is particularly noted for the way in which it responds to audiences, using the crowds' energy to fuel its setlists, which they often improvise at the show.

The band also supports a number of causes, including an ongoing concert series, BurghSTOCK, that support non-profit organizations in the area who assist disabled and homeless military veterans.

“Nothing is quite like the experience of an Ekoostik Hookah show! I [sic] energy of the fans is matched by the energy and talent of the band. I go to see them just about every chance I get. Hoping for another 20 years!”

əkoostik hookah will be at the Odeon in Cleveland, a short distance from Parma, on November 26, at 6:30 pm. Flyer printing can be used to provide handouts to advertise events like this.
