Parma has put its Safety Fair on the schedule, and coupled it with Community Shred Day.
The Safety Fair is an annual event that gives residents a chance to learn valuable information about safety.
The event is put on by the Parma City Council working with the City of Parma, the Parma Police Department, and the Parma Fire Department. The highlight of the day takes place when the medical helicopter lands. The chopper is scheduled to set down at noon, after which everyone can explore the aircraft.
The Fair also includes information on Internet safety and fingerprinting. In addition, there will be a K-9 demonstration, and a demonstration on how to fight a grease fire. Many organizations will have representatives at the event, and for the first time, the Cleveland Browns NFL team will participate by having a team member attend.
At the same time as the Safety Fair, people can bring documents to be shredded in the parking lot of the UH Parma Medical Center. Parma residents will need to bring identification, and a donation of nonperishable or canned food for the Parma Hunger Center, which will be at the event to collect the food.
This year's Safety Fair is set for April 29 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Parma Justice Center, located on Powers Boulevard.
Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a handout with a list of activities and times.
