TV buffs in the Cleveland area will be able to turn the clock back to the 1960s, when Ghoulardifest comes to Parma later this month.
Ghoulardi (‘Lil' John’ Rinaldi) and his sidekick Big Chuck (Chuck Schodowski) will join other television legends to help celebrate Halloween in style.
Local legend Ernie Anderson created the Ghoulardi character on WJW-TV in the 1960s, as the host of a show in which he broadcast oddball monster movies and performed outlandish skits with his cameraman/sidekick Big Chuck. When Anderson moved on, Rinaldi joined the effort, and he and Schodowski, along with Bob ‘Hoolihan’ Wells, continued the tradition of Friday night monster flicks.
Among the special guests appearing this year are comedian Tim Conway, a native of Chagrin Falls, who has worked on ‘The Carol Burnett Show’ and ‘McHale's Navy’, as well as many feature films.
Organizers of the event could work with a poster printing company to make creatively creepy Posters to put in windows in Parma to advertise the event.
Ghoulardifest is scheduled to begin, appropriately, on Halloween and run for three days. The event takes place at the La Villa Conference Center; hours are 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on October 31; 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on November 1; and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm November 2. Tim Conway will sign autographs November 1.
