The Zaremba Group is building a CVS pharmacy on the site of the former Parma Theater.
The developer plans to invest about $4.9m in the project, which would create approximately 20 jobs, and is predicted to bring in annual revenue to the city in the amount of $25,000.
The project was first proposed in September at a public meeting, where residents expressed their concerns about having a 24-hour pharmacy with a drive-through window in the neighborhood for fear it would bring an unacceptable increase in traffic. They also said they disliked the idea of the store selling liquor, and the potential noise pollution of the trash compactor.
In order to address these objections, the developer has changed the plans and moved the building closer to Ridge Road. This puts more distance between the neighborhood homes, and both the dumpster and the pharmacy's drive-through window. In addition, since the pharmacy will be located in Parma's Polish Village, there will be a mural painted on the building showing icons of Polish culture.
The public is asked to provide further input at a meeting on February 25, which will be at St. Charles Borromeo Parish Hall, starting at 6:30 pm.
The developer might consider creating illustrated Brochures that also describe the proposed development in detail, and making them available at the meeting.
