Jamband to play Parma

A popular jamband will appear in Parma soon.

The JiMiller Band is a five-piece outfit based in Cleveland that blends bluegrass, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, Cajun, country, and blues into a sound that is all its own. However, the group is known for the type of improvised rock practiced by such legends as the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead. The band’s current lineup features frontman Jim Miller handling lead guitar and vocals; bassist Dave Blackerby; keyboard artist Steve “Nev” Sheff; drummer Brian “Bagel” Golenberg; and guitarist Vince Berry.

Jim Miller is a veteran of 40 years in the music business, and was once the frontman for Oroboros, who opened the H.O.R.D.E. Festival in 1994 and the 1996 Further Festival. Oroboros also opened for stars like Santana and The Kinks. He has also shared the stage with The Allman Brothers and members of the Grateful Dead. Miller teaches guitar, vocals, and group ensemble as well.

At a typical JiMiller Band concert fans might here such songs as “All Along the Watchtower,” written and performed by Bob Dylan, and subsequently given its most notable and well-known interpretation by Jimi Hendrix. Other titles include “Fire on the Mountain” by the Marshall Tucker Band, and “Jack Straw” by the Grateful Dead.

The band will be at Whiskey Island Still & Eatery in Parma on July 17, in an afternoon concert, from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm. Flyer printing is often successfully used to promote events like this.
