Whitey Morgan, who is based in Flint, Michigan, started his career in the mid-2000s, when he began performing with his band, the Waycross Georgia Farmboys. They toured the Midwest extensively and began to build a following, and released “Honky Tonks and Cheap Motels” their debut album. In 2010, they changed their name to Whitey Morgan and the 78s, and released an album with that title.
Real success began to come at about the same time. In 2014, the group won an Ameripolitan Music Award as Outlaw Country Band of the Year, and “Sonic Ranch,” an album they released in 2014, made it into the Top 40 on both the Independent Albums chart and Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. “Sonic Ranch” made it into the Top 10 on the Heatseekers chart, won critical acclaim, and brought the group to national attention, making it their real breaththrough effort. Among Whitey Morgan's hits are “Another Round” and “I Ain't Drunk.”
A review says:
“Whitey and the 78's were rocking.. this is the second time I've seen them and they never disappoint.”
