The holidays are on their way to Parma, bringing special events, and a new organization to help sponsor them.
The festivities begin with Parma's Christmas Parade, which begins at Stearn's Farm, and goes north, following Ridge Road to Ridgewood Golf Course. Once at the golf course, people will find themselves at the first ever Frosty's Fest.
We Are Parma Proud, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which was recently created, is hosting the first ever Frosty's Fest. The events and goodies planned are family oriented, and include games, crafts suitable for children, a tree ceremony, and snow tubing. Refreshments will be served, including s'mores and cocoa, with local bakeries providing the treats for the very first Parma Cookie Walk. There is also an ugly sweater competition for adults, and Santa will be on hand to make things even more fun.
We Are Parma Proud is a successor to another non-profit organization, Proud of Parma, Inc., which was started by residents in the 1970s. Proud of Parma brought together non-profit groups, government, and businesses to promote pride in Parma. The group was successful, but as the has city evolved, a new group has formed to meet the changes. It builds on the work of Proud of Parma, but is looking toward the future.
The day's fun begins with the Parma Christmas Parade, which starts at 2:00 pm, with Frosty's Fest immediately following. Banner printing can be used to create decorations for events like these.
