Fun-filled race headed for Parma

An upcoming run in Parma promises to be fun for everyone.

The Great Amazing Race Company began holding races in 2012. Based on the hit television show, the races are designed to promote wellness and health for co-workers, friends, and families. The organization hosts over 70 races throughout the country every year.

The events are patterned after the show, which means that contestants form teams of two and compete against others in the same age range. The teams follow a cross-country course that is 1.5 miles long and features stations that present mental and physical challenges.

Contestants will find clue cards at each station that instruct the teams to finish a task, either individually or as a team, before they go on with the race. Teams that work well together are the most likely to win the race. Banner printing can be used to create course markers for events like this.

The race supports 30 Minutes-a-Day Academic Initiatives and Pediatric Cancer. Organizers are urging people to sign up now, as only 100 teams will be allowed to participate. The race is open to every age and skill level, and the teams will be child with child, adult with child, or adult with adult. There are also two courses: a more difficult one for active teams and adults, and an easier one for children and leisure teams.

The race is set for August 15, from 4.00 pm until 6.00 pm at James Day Park in Parma.
