Former Parma High students inducted into Hall of Fame

A selection of 10 former Parma Senior High School students were inducted into the school's Hall of Fame by its Alumni Association recently.

The 10 were chosen from a total of 18 applicants, and were selected after a screening committee had studied their records of community service, professional growth, how they serve others, and human interests.

Among the honorees was Bruce Saban of the Class of 1988, who is now teaching social studies at the school, as well as holding the position of head football coach. This made the honor very special for Saban, who was notified of his selection earlier this year.

Saban was also inducted into the Parma Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014, and said learning of his induction gave him time to reflect on how quickly life passes, and how easy it is to go from being a student, to standing on the stage accepting the honor.

The inductees were recognized at an assembly at their old high school, where they had the chance to chat to seniors and juniors about their careers, and give the younger people some advice about becoming successful. That evening, a reception and dinner was held in their honor.

Events like this can be even more successful if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a program listing the names and accomplishments of the inductees.
