Almost everybody loves macaroni and cheese, and now those Parma residents who fancy this gooey dish have a chance to sample 30 different versions.
The First Energy Foundation is holding the fourth Mac 'n' Cheese Throwdown, in which 30 local restaurants will compete directly to see who has the best mac 'n' cheese in town. Attendees will be able to vote for the best mac in the competition, as well as enjoying “cheap booze” and music from a Cheesy DJ.
To add to the fun (and perhaps the sales of stomach medicine), there will be a mac 'n' cheese eating contest, in which participants will have 30 minutes to polish off three pounds of the dish. The winner will receive $50, and the second- and third-place finishers will receive $25 each.
Both general admission and VIP tickets are available, and both include the opportunity to sample all 30 of the dishes, plus two tickets for non-alcoholic beverages, and one vote for the best dish. The VIP admission includes all this, and allows attendees to skip the lines, as well as enjoying seating in a special area.
The throwdown is set for February 29, from 12:00 pm until 3:30 pm, at the Cleveland Public Auditorium on Lakeside Avenue East, a short drive from Parma. The mac 'n' cheese eating contest starts at 12:30 pm. Banner printing can be used to provide great decorations for events like this.
