Brooklyn schedules Picnic in the Park

Parma residents who like picnics should take note; the Brooklyn, Ohio, Chamber of Commerce is the sponsor behind the upcoming “Picnic in the Park” at Veterans Memorial Park in Brooklyn, about three miles from Parma.

The picnic will feature games, food, a children's bounce house, and a ‘corn hole’ tournament. Corn hole is a yard game in which teams take turns throwing one-pound Bags of corn at a hole in a board. A bag of corn going into the hole scores three points, while anywhere on the platform is one point. The winning team is the first to score 21.

Live music will also be part of the day, with the band Funkology scheduled to play twice, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, and again from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funkology comprises members of the faculty of Brooklyn High School.

There will also be raffle baskets, and event organizers are selling tickets to raise funds for a pedal car. Winners will be announced at 8:00pm on the evening of the event.

The picnic is slated for Saturday, August 16th. The fun starts at 1:00pm and ends at 8.30pm, and all ages are welcome.

Picnic organizers could work with a banner printing company to create Banners to be used outdoors at the event. Since they move in the breeze, Banners add to a sense of excitement.
