The Fremont Elite Runners Club is gearing up to host its annual "Melt the Ice 5K" run and walk this March.
This community event will promote wellness and raise funds for the Fremont Exchange Club. All earnings from the race will support the organization’s charitable efforts in the community.
Participants can pre-register online or by mail for $25 until February 28th. Registering by that date will also guarantee that attendees receive a race shirt. Online registration will remain open until March 2nd but shirts may be limited after the earlier deadline. Those signing up on race day will pay $30.
Awards will be given to the top female and male participants and the three top participants in various age brackets ranging from 9 and younger to 70 and above.
Race-day registration and packet pick-up will start at 8:30 am and close 15 minutes prior to the event’s start time. The race will take place regardless of the weather. No refunds will be offered. Organizers, however, can cancel the event if conditions become unsafe.
