A day of family activities, historical presentations and live music is planned in Fremont as community members gather to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.
Throughout the afternoon, guests can participate in traditional games, educational programs and youth-focused activities spread across the estate. Museum staff and historians will present discussions focused on significant moments in the nation’s past, while interpreters and speakers will share notable addresses connected to American history.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own meals for an outdoor picnic or purchase refreshments available on-site. The celebration will be held on the former residence grounds of President Rutherford B. Hayes and First Lady Lucy Hayes, a location known for its historical significance and expansive green spaces.
A highlight of the gathering will be a patriotic musical performance presented by the Toledo Concert Band. The ensemble, which includes musicians affiliated with the Toledo Symphony, will perform from the veranda of the Hayes residence. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Admission to all festival activities is free. The museum will also operate during regular hours, and guided tours of the Hayes residence will be available at a charge. Discounted access to the museum and home tours will be offered during the celebration.
