A tribute band that started out in Chicago’s north side pubs is on the way up, and coming to Cincinnati.
The Trippin Billies are a tribute outfit for the Dave Matthews Band, and they began their career as an acoustic duo playing small clubs in Chicago in the mid-1990s. As their reputation grew, so too did the lines for their concerts, and they started playing larger venues throughout the Midwest.
Having started in a city noted for its musicians, the Trippin Billies are a showcase of some of the talent in Chicago. They have played summer festivals in Lincoln, Nebraska and Rochester, New York, packed a North Dakota hockey arena, and sold out a club in Iowa City. Their current touring commitments resemble the schedule their heroes, the Dave Matthews Band, maintained before they became the superstars they are today. The Trippin Billies now regularly fill theaters they once considered beyond their reach.
The Trippin Billies current lineup is Pat McKillen and guitar and lead vocals, violinist Phil Roach, drummer Kelsey Tarver, bassist Mendell Beckford, Steve Schnall on sax, and guitarist Eric Justen. Many of these musicians play in other bands as well.
The Trippin Billies will be at the Ludlow Garage on Saturday, February 10. When events like this are planned, organizers will often use brochure printing to create programs for the audience.
