Chelsea Handler is an actress, stand-up comedian, television host, writer, and producer who is best-known for hosting her talk show, “Chelsea Lately,” that ran on E! for seven years, 2007 to 2014.
Handler is a native of New Jersey, but relocated to Los Angeles to try and break into acting. She switched to comedy when she was in a class of others who had traffic violations. She told a story about her arrest; her classmates found it amusing and that was the spark.
The comedian has extensive television credits, both as a performer and behind the scenes. She appeared in shows such as “Girls Behaving Badly,” a reality television program; “The Practice,” “My Wife and Kids,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” and “Weekends at the D.L,” and was a regular correspondent for “The Tonight Show.” She has produced or executive produced numerous talk shows.
Her career includes writing, with the result that she has put six Books in the Number 1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller list. A review of a Handler show says:
