Valentines show for Cincinnati

A jazz master is planning to cheer Cincinnati with his annual celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Alex Bugnon is a jazz pianist who is a native of Montreux, Switzerland, where the annual Jazz Festival is held. He is known for his talents as a bandleader, composer, and musician, and has been part of contemporary music for over 20 years. His childhood in Montreux and its association with jazz, as well as his friendship with the legendary Herbie Hancock served to cement his decision to pursue a career in music.

Over the course of his career, Bugnon has built a loyal base of fans from countries throughout the world. He has never cut back on his touring, and has broken Dizzy Gillespie’s record for the number of times he has appeared at Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. A true professional, he writes music or practices the piano daily. When he is not at the piano, he spends his time listening to his favorite musicians, many of whom influenced his career. They include Keith Jarrett, Mulgrew Miller, and of course, Herbie Hancock.

A review of Bugnon in performance says:

“ . . . I strongly encourage all true contemporary jazz fans to seek out Alex if he’s anywhere in your area. Heck, it’s well worth a road trip too! Great show.”

The show is set for February 12 at 8.30 pm, at the Ludlow Garage, where organizers can use poster printing to devise colorful advertising for events like this.
