Two great bands coming to Cincinnati

Two popular rock outfits are stopping in Cincinnati in August.

Heart is on their Royal Flush Tour, and Cheap Trick is coming along to add to the fun. Seattle, Washington, was the birthplace of Heart, which formed in 1973. The core members were Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen, Ann Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Michael Derosier, and Howard Leese. These were the members named when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Heart charted numerous times, putting hits like “Crazy On You” and “These Dream” into the Top 40. They have worldwide record sales of more than 50 million, and four Grammy nominations.

Cheap Trick formed in Rockford, Illinois, in 1973, founded by Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, and Bun E. Carlos. Their sound was a blend of punk and hard rock, as well as guitar pop, and proved a template for other power pop groups. They broke into the mainstream with their 1979 “At Budokan” album, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

A concert review says it was:
“. . . an evening of musical brilliance headlined by the legendary Heart. With . . . Cheap Trick . . . the stage was set for an unforgettable evening of rock and roll.”

Heart and Cheap Trick will be at the Heritage Bank Center on August 13. When events like this are planned, organizers often use poster printing to create advertisements for them.
