Residents celebrate NEP on Warsaw Avenue

Cincinnati officials, stakeholders, and residents recently joined together to mark the beginning of a Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) that will benefit the neighborhood of East Price Hill.

An NEP is a highly-localized, short-term, 90-day ‘blitz’, during which a number of beautification and safety initiatives are undertaken. In this case, the target is the Warsaw Avenue Business District. The NEP will be in effect until mid-November.

Cincinnati mayor John Cranley said that the Incline District, which is in the East Price Hill neighborhood, has experienced a renaissance, and he believes the momentum created by the improvement in the area will carry through to Warsaw Avenue. He added he was proud to celebrate this NEP, the 27th in the city, and is looking forward to the success of the neighborhood.

The kick-off was held in a parking lot that was once run down, but is now a dedicated site used by a number of food trucks. Community events are also held there, and the neighborhood is considering what the site might be used for in future. Flyer printing can create handouts for events like this.

At the event, Mayor Cranley announced that ‘Wrap Up Warsaw’ and ‘Light Up Warsaw’ would be two of the projects undertaken during the NEP to help beautify the area. In addition, the city is partnering with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful to recruit volunteers for the NEP efforts. The event is September 21, and information is available at keepcincinnatibeautiful.org.
