The Who first got together in 1964 in London, with an original lineup comprising Roger Daltrey as the lead singer, Pete Townshend as vocalist and guitarist, singer and bass guitarist John Entwistle, and Keith Moon on drums. The group is one of the most successful rock outfits in history, with record sales of more than 100 million globally.
The group was successful from the beginning. They released “I Can’t Explain,” their first single under the name The Who, in 1965, and it hit the top of the UK charts. They followed that with hits including “My Generation,” “Happy Jack” and “Substitute”. They appeared in 1967 at the Monterey Pop Festival and later that year released “I Can See for Miles”. In 1969, they released “Tommy,” a concept album that included the hit single “Pinball Wizard.” “Live at Leeds,” a 1970 concert album, cemented their reputation.
The lineup has changed over the years, but they are still touring and packing houses.
A review says:
“Even at about 70 years old, The Who put on a tremendous show. . . . From the first Pete Townshend "Windmill" . . . to the final note from Daltrey . . . you couldn't have gotten more excitement out of the place.”
The Who will be at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on May 15. Poster printing is a perfect tool organizers can use to promote events like this.
