One of the summer's major event is coming to Cincinnati, and the city's river.
The Ohio River Paddlefest is one of the biggest paddling events in the nation, involving about 2,000 oarsmen who travel nine miles of the Ohio River. During the course of the paddle, participants have a breathtaking view of the skyline of Cincinnati and of the communities in Northern Kentucky. They also paddle beneath seven bridges, and have a chance to explore the historic Mill Creek waterway.
The evening before the paddle, participants can enjoy a Paddler's Party. Even those who are not taking part in the event can meet the participants after the paddle at Gilday Riverside Park for the Finish Line Festival. The festival offers exhibits, vendors, food trucks, and craft beer for everyone to enjoy.
Races are also part of Paddlefest, and the schedule includes a 6:45 am mandatory meeting for racers, who will start at 7:00 am. Paddlers will enter the river and start their event at 7:15 am, with 8:30 am being the latest time anyone can put a craft in the water. The Mill Creek tour is scheduled for 8:30 am until 10:30 am, and the Finish Line Festival runs from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
The Paddlefest is set for August 1, with the Paddler's Party on July 31, and benefits the nonprofit organization Adventure Crew, which provides outdoor recreation for teens in the area. Flyer printing can provide informative handouts for events like this.
