Frontier Airlines reducing number of flights at CVG

Frontier Airlines is making a number of changes to the flights it schedules in and out of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

The airline plans to cut its Las Vegas service by half in October, as well as discontinuing its nonstop, daily flights to Fort Lauderdale. Frontier also announced it will discontinue daily nonstops to Atlanta on October 24, though it will reinstate these flights as a seasonal service in 2016.

According to Jim Faulkner, a Frontier spokesman, the cuts do not indicate Frontier is failing, nor do they necessarily mean there will be further cuts to service at CVG, but it is possible Frontier does not foresee further growth in the region. Faulkner added that the Denver-based airline is happy with its overall performance at CVG, and he has hinted that there might be some intermediate grown in future.

Melissa Wideman, spokeswoman for CVG, said the airport expected Frontier to continue its growth at the facility in 2016, and noted that many airlines make seasonal reduction during quieter periods. This includes both the major legacy carriers and smaller, regional airlines.

Frontier officials might consider working with a brochure or flyer printing company on a mailer for their customers, announcing the changes but reiterating the services they provide to other destinations, as well as thanking their patrons.
