EGOT legend coming to Cincinnati

An EGOT-winning, multitalented artist is coming to Cincinnati. EGOT is the acronym for those who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, and membership in this club is very exclusive, numbering less than 20 people.

The EGOT winner on his way to Cincinnati is John Legend, who got his start working anonymously on behalf of other artists. He played the piano on “Everything is Everything” by Lauryn Hill, and provided backing vocals, without credit, on “Encore” by Jay-Z, and “You Don’t Know My Name,” by Alicia Keys.

In 2004, he released his debut album, a studio effort called “Get Lifted.” The album was a success, climbing into the Billboard 200 top ten. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it double platinum, and the hit “Ordinary People,” was from this album. He has gone on to rack up three Emmys, a Tony, a Golden Globe, an Oscar, and 12 Grammys.

John Legend will appear with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and says the concert will rework some of his biggest hits, include stories about his career and life, and offer selections from “Legend,” his most recent release. This is the first time Legend will appear with the Pops.

John Legend: A Night of Songs And Stories with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra is scheduled for September 10 at the Riverbend Music Center. Concerts such as this can be advertised when organizers work with printers who use poster printing.
