Christmas with a British accent comes to Cincinnati

A popular entertainer is bringing a special show to Cincinnati for Christmas.

Peter Noone is coming to the Ludlow Garage to present his Olde English Christmas show. He has visited the Garage in the past, and the show is so popular that this year that there will be two performances.

His Olde English Christmas gives Noone a chance to pull some favorite carols out of his Christmas stocking, along with a few hits from the Herman’s Hermits catalog.

Peter Noone is a native of the Davyhulme area of Manchester, England, and has been performing since he was a child. When he was 15, he became the “Herman” of Herman’s Hermits. Being naturally photogenic, Noone literally became the face of the band and appeared on numerous publications’ covers, including a 1965 Time Magazine collage featuring “new faces” in pop music.

The band comprised Noone, Keith Hopwood, Derek “Lek” Leckenby, Barry Whitwam, and Karl Green, and their hits included “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “I’m into Something Good,” and “Dandy.” They sold over 60 million records, including seven albums rated gold, and 14 gold hit singles. Cashbox, a U.S. trade paper, twice called them “Entertainer of the Year.” A review says:

“The show was nonstop quality entertainment . . . Peter Noone was amazing.”

Now aged 77, Peter Noone will bring the Olde English Christmas to Ludlow Garage on Saturday, December 21 at 3.30 pm and again at 8.00 pm. Organizers traditionally use Posters to advertise shows like this and can create them using poster printing companies.
