Blues master to play Cincinnati

He received a Grammy nomination for his debut album, and now he is set to bring his magic to Cincinnati.

Christone Ingram dropped “Kingfish,” his debut album on Alligator Records in 2019, and promptly won a Grammy nomination for “Best Traditional Blues Album.” Ingram is a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, a city in the Delta known for its connection to the Blues. The Mississippi Blues Trail has placed several markers at historic sites in the city, and is home to the Delta Blues Museum.

Ingram uses the pseudonym “Kingfish” in keeping with his first album. Although he is still in his early twenties, he has already been the headliner on two national tours, and has performed with major talents such as Jason Isbell, Vampire Weekend, and the legendary Buddy Guy. He and Guy appeared together on the popular PBS television show, “Austin City Limits.”

Sir Elton John interviewed Ingram for “Rocket Hour,” his podcast, and Ingram was on two magazine covers (DownBeat and Guitar World) simultaneously in January this year. He was featured on the cover of another publication, Living Blues, late in 2020.

Rolling Stone said:

“Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.”

Ingram will be at Cincinnati’s Ludlow Garage on August 10 at 7:30 pm. Poster printing is often used to create exciting advertisements for events like this.
