Airline gives backing to CVG alterations

Delta Air Lines has spoken about changes at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

The airline supports the decision, reached during the week beginning March 23, to reorganize the airport board. Delta also praised those who worked to create the changes, including Kris Knochelmann, the new Kenton County Judge Executive.

Trebor Banstetter, spokesman for Delta Air Lines, said the company supported efforts to include additional regional representation on the board, and thanked Judge Executive Knochelmann for spearheading the effort.

CVG is one of nine airports in the United States that Delta uses as a hub. Although the airline has cut almost 600 daily from its schedule at Cincinnati in the last 10 years, it still has great influence in the region, and usually refrains from commenting about local issues.

However, it has made public statements about CVG in the past; in August 2013, it backed Candace McGraw, the airport’s CEO, two days after the board tried to dismiss her. Most board members who took this step have since resigned.

With an article on Cincinnati.com suggesting that the airport has shown a lack of accountability in the past, it is to be hoped that opening up membership to those from other counties should help alleviate these problems.

When the new board members are seated, they could work with a business card printing company to insure they have appropriate cards.
