A group with sales of millions to their credit will appear soon in Cincinnati.
Earth, Wind & Fire (EWF) has been part of the American music scene for decades, with a sound that encompasses Afro pop, Latin, disco, funk, soul, R&B, and jazz. The group has sold more than 90 million records around the world, making it one of music’s best-selling bands.
Maurice White formed the band in Chicago in 1969, an outgrowth of his work with the Salty Peppers. Like most bands that have been together for many years, the line-up has changed. Some of the notable artists who have been with EWF include Andrew Woolfolk, Fred Ravel, and Sonny Emory. Its horn section, kalimba sound, and elaborate stage performances have become hallmarks of the group.
EWF has won numerous awards, including six Grammys and four American Music Awards. The band has been inducted into Hollywood’s Rockwalk, the NAACP Image Award Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A review says:
“I’d wager that all 3,000 people who made their way into the arena rather than Pinewood Bowl would see Earth, Wind & Fire again tomorrow if they could. I sure would. They were fabulous.”
Earth, Wind & Fire will be at the PNC Pavilion on June 28. Organizers of this type of event can use poster printing to create exciting advertising.
