Celebrated R&B/soul singer coming to Cincinnati
An artist celebrated for his talent and authenticity is coming to Cincinnati.
Eric Roberson is a songwriter, singer, and producer who won two Grammy nominations in the category “Best Urban/Alternative Performance,” one in 2010 for the song “A Tale of Two,” and the second in 2011 for “Still.” However, the Grammys are only two of many nominations and awards he has received, from organizations like the BET Awards, the Pop Awards, and the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards. His album “Lessons” won Album of the Year at the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards in 2022.
Roberson has pioneered what is called the “Honest Music” movement since 2001. One source describes honest music as that which comes directly from the soul. To produce music with such meaning, it is necessary for the artist to share their authentic selves.
Roberson has done just that, developing artistic freedom not often seen in mainstream music. His album “Lessons” is usually cited as an example of his truth in music. He is also a professor at the renowned Berklee College of Music, and was a vocalist on “That’s My Jam,” a game show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. A concert review says:
Eric Roberson will be at the Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati with his Holiday Show on December 15. When they advertise shows like this, organizers often use posters, which are available from professional printers.
